Siegel Traditionsweingüter Österreich

Typical pepper flavours together with a nice texture on the palate. An excellent and serious wine and very valuable! When some friends are coming over, there is always time for a bottle of Sandgrube.

Andreas Müller

Sandgrube

Nomen est omen – deep sand and Löss soils shape the vineyard Sandgrube. Extensive loess and sand deposits form the basis for the calcareous, well-aerated humic soils. The loess consists of fine dust derived from calcareous rocks mixed with dolomite, feldspar, quartz, mica and clay minerals, that was carried by the wind during the cold stages of the Ice Age when there was little in the way of vegetation cover, and deposited on the foothills of the Alps.
