Siegel Traditionsweingüter Österreich

From low-yielding 100-year-old vines planted shortly after the phylloxera. A fresh citrus nose with plump red apple that leads to complex layers of tropical fruit, tart tatin and white pepper.

THE BUYER

Holzgasse, Kremsleithen & Kerschbaum

The vineyard Holzgasse is located underneath the plateau between Gneixendorf and Senftenberg which is divided by the street to Stratzing. The very wind exposed vineyard consists of very deep Löss – soil and creates expressive wines. The Kremsleithen vineyard is divided into two parts. The upper part consists mainly of Löss and old Danube gravel which is the reason for planting only Grüner Veltliner in this part. Our vineyards are beyond ordinary not only because of their terroir but especially the age of the vines is very rare. Because our vines are over 100 years old - and as they are planted very densely - we are only able to cultivate these vines by hand.
