Domains:

Oberhauser, Sätzen, Mitterfeld, Supperin, are all
more or less flat districts. Here there are stony
alluvial
soils covered from more or less loess layers.
These
are the best conditions for the vinification of
fruity and fresh
"Wachauer Grünen Veltliner"

Breitl, a domain in front of the Loibenberg, and
Bruck are the districts where the grapes "Wachauer Riesling" for come from. The exposed southern
slope in "Spitzer Graben", the cool winds, which
flow through the narrow side valley of the Danube
from the wooded area into the vineyards, and very
barren soils, characterised by paragneiss primary
rocks, produce very elegant wines and wines with
amazing mineral characteristics.

Grüner Veltliner und Riesling Terraces were
intended as "first wines" from the very onset.
That is why grapes from very good domains such
as Hochstrasser, Hollerin, Schütt, Vorderseiber
and Jochinger Kollmitz were used. Late harvest
(19°KMW min.) in order to harvest physiologically
ripe grapes. Healthy grapes without any botrytis are
the aim, in order to achieve full-bodied wine, which
goes down well and displays elegance.

Loibenberg und Pfaffenberg are the jewels in the
crown of the selection – it is not by accident that
these domains are counted among the really great
wines of the Wachau.
